Study of the interaction of concrete walls with the foundation structure

This article presents a study of the factors that influence mechanism soil-structure interaction with pilot building having concrete walls and their impact on performance. To illustrate studies carried out, numerical modeling four-floor wall was performed, subjected to vertical actions, supported by slab-on-ground foundation, using Finite Element Method (FEM), together specific 3D software for analysis structural dimensioning in reinforced concrete. For consideration geotechnical system (foundation structure), discrete spring model (Winkler model) coupled superstructure used slab foundation thickness varied 16 cm, 25 cm 40 cm. The local formation represented soft clay (SPT = 5) from Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region, Brazil. influential SSI analyzed this research were: relative stiffness structure, requesting stresses, settlements steel reinforcement bar ratio. better visualization these various factors, an made distribution normal stresses at base building, form graphs. Finally, it concluded change influences tendency uniformity as increases. However, relationship is not linear.
